On September 7th, we celebrated our 2 year anniversary of being open for business. We've come a long way from it just being Lou and Mike, doing only 3 or 4 dogs a day. The business quickly grew and when we got to the point where we were booking 3 weeks out, we brought in Alexis. That lowered wait times to just a few days. But after several more months, we are now booking a week out again. Thanks to everyone for your support.
We are conveniently located in Lakewood right off Steilacoom Blvd on 83rd Ave SW.

I have been grooming dogs for over 30 years, the majority of which was as lead groomer at Cheri's Grooming in Lakewood. I spent a brief time grooming for a corporate groomer. I never understood how some of my coworkers (and moreso the company) were okay sending dogs home with partial haircuts or just, in general, poor haircuts. I take pride in what I do. Your dog is your baby. "I am not happy unless both you and your dog are happy."
Alexis's love for animals prompted her to explore the dog grooming industry, a profession she fell in love with. Like Lou, Alexis has worked in a private salon and dabbled in a corporate salon for a total of 7 years work experience (as of 2025). Having the personality, friendliness, and quality of grooming, Alexis seemed a perfect fit for our shop. Alexis joined Grooming by Lou in February 2025, making everyone happy - us, our customers, and your dog(s).
